Pencilling away..

 I started by just sketching out some rough ideas, using A Softer World as a big inspiration, the quirky way they present their pictures and text is really bold. I also looked at a slightly consctructivist approach, keeping it quite simple, instruction manuals have to be quite simple. Then got abit carried away...

& I kinda lost any constructivist approach haha, I got some inspiration too from:

combined with lots of kinda 50s inspired postcards and advertisements, old movie posters etc.

Now maybe a mock up with instead of a drawing of someone looking astounded at the amazing abilities of a pencil, a person?
